Who is at risk?
Anyone who has had chickenpox carries the dormant virus in their nerve tissues. As the immune system weakens with age, typically after 50 years old, the virus can reactivate as shingles. People with weakened immune systems, such as those with chronic illnesses or undergoing cancer treatments, are at even higher risk, and at a much earlier age

Where to Get Vaccinated?
The shingles vaccine is available at all Advantage Medical Clinics. It is also covered under certain health subsidies and Medisave schemes, making it more accessible for eligible individuals.
Shingrix, a 2-dose shingles vaccine costs about $360 per dose.
The Ministry of Health has newly announced new subsidies for the shingles vaccine. After government subsidies, eligible Singaporeans will expect to pay between $75 to $300 per course.
PRs can expect to pay around $360 per course of Shingrix. This subsidy begin in end of september 2025

The vaccine is given via intramuscular injection into the deltoid (arm) for adults. 2 doses of the vaccine is given, with a minimum interval of 8 weeks between the 1st and 2nd dose.
